Forklift Operator & Train the Trainer

OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.178(1) Operator Training. (l)(1)(i) Requires: The employer shall ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (1).
This operational safety course consists of the following:


  • Review of various units and applications
  • Enhanced National Safety Council programs and/or our O.E. Program(s)
  • Workbook / Daily Checklists / Written Exams
  • Review of videotapes
  • Fueling / Battery Changing / Charging
  • Personal Certificate of Completion


  • Daily inspection (checklist)
  • Operational checklist (functional)

OPERATOR PERFORMANCE TEST (on sit-down forklift model)

  • Pick-up and placements of pallets
  • Operator course
  • Simulated rail car / trailer loading and unloading
  • Simulated narrow aisle operation
