MWSC Basic Making-Die Theory
Principles of blanking and/or piercing dies; bending; screw and dowel holes; die life; punches; pilots; die-block construction; strippers and stock guides; shredders and knockouts; nest gages; pushers; die stops; stock materials utilization; strip layouts and die set are topics covered. Basic techniques and theories of building stamping dies are presented along with the essential facts of cutting and forming operations. Discusses primary die components as individual entities in addition to their function as an integral part of the complete die. This class will run on Mondays and Wednesdays.
