This course is designed to develop a proficient knowledge of CNC CAD/CAM programming and machining. The student will learn basic programming concepts and techniques using the latest in computer aided drafting and computer aided machining technologies along with state of the art indexable tooling. Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course the student should be proficient in:
a. Understanding the fundamentals of computer aided drafting and computer aided machining technologies
b. Importation, creation and manipulation of drawing files.v c. Machine tool selection
d. Machining strategies and operations.
e. Program management
f. Cutting tool technology
g. Creation of two, two and one half, and three axis CAM programs in EIA word address formats.
Course will include three tests and a final examination. A certificate of completion will be awarded upon successful completion of this course

Attendance Policy: An Apprentice is expected to attend 100% of the classes in his/her course of study.Apprentices are also reminded that the classroom portion of the training is important, significant absences will impact the learning and could impact the grade received in the course. Any make-up work is at the discretion of the instructor and offered only in cases of excused absences. Companies will be notified of apprentice absences, lateness and leaving early.

This course will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
