Course Description:

This course is designed to develop a proficient knowledge of CNC CAD/CAM programming and machining.

The student will learn basic programming concepts and techniques using the latest in computer aided drafting and computer aided machining technologies along with state of the art indexable tooling and computer workstations.  

CNC I is not a prerequisite of CNC II, however, we highly encourage students to take CNC I prior to completing CNC II because of how fast paced the class is. 

*Students can use course credit hour towards Apprentice Program Requirements*

Course Objectives:

  • Fundamentals of computer aided drafting and computer aided machining technologies
  • Creation and manipulation of drawing files
  • Machine tool selection
  • Machining strategies and operations
  • Program management
  • Cutting tool technology
  • Creation of two, two and one half, and three axis CAM programs in EIA word address formats

This course will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 - 9 pm
