Photoshop CS2 Introduction

We designed this course for the student who has little or no experience using Photoshop, and who needs to learn the basic skills that are necessary in order to begin to use this program effectively. Included: Identify the differences between raster and vector graphics; Select appropriate resolutions for different image and output types; Resize and crop images; Select image areas using Lasso, Marquee, and Magic Wand tools; use Alpha Channels to save and load selections; Create and manipulate Layers to composite images easily; Select colors using the Color palette, Color Picker, and Eyedropper tool; use Photoshop fs painting tools to create artwork; and use the Clone Stamp tool to duplicate parts of an image; Add and format text within an image; and Saving images in file formats for use with other applications.

    Course Objectives:
  • Identify the differences between raster and vector graphics, and manipulate Photoshop fs various graphic tools and controls.
  • Select appropriate resolutions for different image and output types, and resize and crop image areas.
  • Select image areas using the Lasso, Marquee, and Magic Wand tools, and use alpha channels to save and load selections.
  • Create and manipulate multiple layers to composite images easily.
  • Select colors using the Color palette, Color Picker, and Eyedropper tool, and use Photoshop fs painting tools to create artwork or to retouch photographs.
  • Add and format text within an image, and apply layer effects and filters to create special effects including lighting effects and textures.
  • Save images in file formats for use with other applications and the Web.

      Lunch will be on your own. Make checks payable to : South Central Workforce Board. No shows will be charged the full course price. Substitutions permitted. No refunds will be issued.
      Please make sure to park in the Rear Parking Garage, located behind the building. (Parking is free.) Parking Garage Directions: If you are facing the front of the PNC building, bear right and drive around towards the rear of the building. There will be a side access road on the right with a small sign directing you to the parking garage. Since its a bank owned building, there is heavy security. You may enter the building at the building fs rear entrance. Upon entering, and before leaving, please make sure to sign in/out at the Security desk. Ask for directions to the Resolutions Training, Suite 150.
