This course is designed to give students an understanding of basic physics and the ability to recognize definitions for force, friction and inertia.
The student will be able to describe atmospheric pressure and its effects on pumping systems. The student will also be able to recognize pump captivation and locate its cause. The student will be able to identify different types of pumps and explain their operation and perform calculations and formulas, identify hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic motors.
- Perform calculations
- Draw static hydraulic systems to calculate the force of a cylinder
- Identify and explain the operation of check valves, two, three and four way valves and control valves
- Explain how a check valve is used
