The Manager as a Leader
This half day class explores the respective roles of managers and leaders. In your Leadership role you will be required to both manage and lead. The key is to be proficient at both and move back and forth between them. It’s your responsibility to manage the environment and business aspect of the department. It is also your responsibility to lead your team members and coach them to be self-reliant.
- Learning Objectives:
- Focus on ways to strengthen the relationship with one’s manager
- Identify the need to align and advocate for their group and the need to “manage up.” Examine ways to deal with resistance to change
- Utilize strategic leadership skills and practices; SWOT analysis to set group priorities.
