Course Description:
This 30 hour course is designed to develop an introductory knowledge of basic CAD/CAM programming. The student will learn basic skills to program machine parts for Milling Machining Centers from CAD drawings on a computer work station.

COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course the student should have developed skills to:
  • a. Import Drawings in DXF format.
  • b. Understand drawing manipulation techniques in preparation for programming.
  • c. Choose the correct cutting tools and mounting devices for machining parts.
  • d. Create simple programs for machining centers on a CAD/CAM computer workstation
  • e. Simulate the programs in the computer and check for errors
  • f. Output and store programs in EIA “G” code format

Perquisite: Must take CNC Operator I

This class will run on Tuesday & Thursdays, 6 - 9 pm
