What to do with an employee who you suspect is impaired?
How to differentiate this from an employee whose physical or mental health affects their performance?
And, how to communicate this to your supervisors?
The purpose of this presentation is to discuss how you address the impaired employee whose performance is being affected by the use of drugs or alcohol or the employee whose behaviors cause concern in the workplace. We will discuss reasonable suspicion, documenting occurrences, and how to constructively engage with the impaired employee to either resolve the problem or work towards a conclusion of their employment. (Approx. 1 hour).
We will examine this issue through the lens of the law, provide real-world examples, and discuss with employers’ rights, duties, and obligations when faced with an employee they believe is impaired.
Given then current drug epidemic, we believe this topic is both timely and important to manufacturers in central PA.
