As HR professionals, we all need to learn new concepts and a new language in order to interface with IT professionals who are tasked with providing IT security to our companies.
With these new threats also come legal questions (many unanswered by the courts), and insurance questions.
Mr. Tarlow’s practice includes a wide range of matters, focusing significantly on counseling employers in both union and nonunion environments on employment related matters as well as negotiating collective bargaining agreements. Mr. Tarlow’s counseling includes discrimination issues (such as Title VII and ADA), OFCCP (including Affirmative Action compliance), FMLA and FLSA, as well as the interplay between these issues and collective bargaining agreements. He has appeared before the NRLB, EEOC and corresponding state and local commissions, as well as federal court and has served as lead counsel in many complex labor arbitrations concerning contract interpretation (often with significant employer exposure and complexity) and employee discipline. Mr. Tarlow has provided advice and litigated common law employment issues such as non-competition/trade secret issues, wrongful discharge, interference with contractual relations, drug testing, privacy, employee handbooks and employment contracts.
Alan Estes started his professional career in the summer of 1997 with General Electric. Alan stayed involved in several teams including six sigma, safety team, travel team and process analysis. Alan would actively involve himself in these groups to help further develop his professional attributes. After working for GE for over a decade, Alan ventured on to GDC, LLC in 1998 and continued his education in IT. Alan is currently studying business with WGU and plans to graduate with his MBA in 2018. Strategic and tactful, Alan understands business continuity. Alan possesses a strong IT background with an eye for innovation. In his free time, Alan loves to spend time with his wife and kids, mostly consumed with kids sporting activities. Grateful for an amazing group of mentors, Alan makes sure to encourage others coming up through the business ranks.
