Education & Training
Courses and seminars that cover issues of importance and special interest to business. The expanding list of programs fill member needs with quality instruction at affordable prices.
The Association ensures that the voice of the region's business community is heard in Harrisburg and Washington. Association staff research issues of importance to members, communicates responsible positions on behalf of the membership, and coordinates member participation in the legislative and political process.
Employee Relations Council
A network of individuals interested in sharing ideas and learning about the ever-changing world of human resource management meet monthly in a business friendly environment.
Keeping in touch with members is essential in this fast environment. The Association issues a monthly newsletter with informative, frequent advertising of training and education classes, News Releases that communicate to both local and national media the position on relevant topics, and member service information.
Numerous committees provide members to get involved in the activities of the Association. Education & Training, Legislation, Annual Meeting, Programs and Workforce Development are several examples.
In addition to a thorough wage and benefit survey, the Association frequently polls members on issues raised in the community or by fellow members.
Our Annual Meeting
This meeting and dinner has developed into a premier community event where several hundred business executives and community leaders gather to network and enjoy a high profile keynote speaker. Recent speakers have been Dr. Ben Carson, Penn State Football Coach James Franklin, Stephen Forbes and Jeb Bush.
The Association maintains a catalog of resumes that are submitted by prospective employees. Several resumes are advertised monthly in the newsletter.
The Association continues to expand the opportunities for members to advertise their business. Placing an insert in the newsletter or on our web site, providing a "fax" to be issued, or sponsoring an Association event - are just a few of the most used services.
Providing a local, friendly environment for business leaders to share ideas and concerns are the goal of the roundtable program.
Activities include: Resume Bank, Job Fairs, Referrals to Active Position Openings.
Through its educational Foundation the Association supports Your Employability Skills and education program designed to provide life and employibility skills to the public.
Assisting our Colleagues in Transition
The Association offers services to assist manufacturing colleagues in finding new employment situations. Services can be provided in a variety of settings: one to one counseling, job search workshops and job fairs. All services are coordinated with the local Career Link and Work Force Development Board.
