Popular Area News Broadcaster Named as April 25th Event Emcee: York Bagpipe & Drum Band, Local Vocalist, to Kick-Off Annual Program

Popular Area News Broadcaster Named as April 25 Event Emcee;

York Bagpipe and Drum Band, Local Vocalist, to Kick-Off Annual Program

(York, Pa.) – The Manufacturers’ Association, serving southcentral Pennsylvania, has announced that noted area news broadcaster Robb Hanrahan of CBS 21 Harrisburg will host its upcoming 112th Annual Event April 25, at The Pullo Center in York.

Part of CBS 21 Harrisburg’s news team since 2010, Hanrahan has more than 30 years of television news experience and anchors both the popular station’s evening and late newscasts. He is also CBS 21’s chief political reporter, and anchors ‘Face the State with Robb Hanrahan’ on Sunday mornings.

This will be Hanrahan’s second emcee role for the event, and follows his host appearance with speaker Karl Rove in 2016.

Well-known for their pipes and drums at appearances at many parades and celebrations throughout the region – and celebrating their 90th anniversary in 2018 – approximately 25 members of The Kiltie Band of York will open the evening’s program at 6:00 PM.

Immediately following, The National Anthem will be performed by Caroline Rose, singer/songwriter from York, PA – who has performed the Anthem for such professional baseball teams as the Philadelphia Phillies, the Reading Fightin’ Phils, the York Revolution, and the Lancaster Barnstormers. Ms. Rose is a private piano and voice instructor in the York area.

The Association will also mark the occasion to recognize its outstanding manufacturers for contributions made in 2017 to their business organizations or the local community – in the categories of Manufacturer of the Year, Community Investor and Manufacturing Innovator. The Association will present its Partner of the Year award that same evening.

Nomination forms can be found online at http://bit.ly/2paD4AU, and may be submitted by the public prior to Friday, March 16, 2018 and emailed to office@mascpa.org. Completed nominations can be also be mailed to The Manufacturers’ Association, Attention: Award Nominations, at 320 Busser Road, 2nd Floor, P.O. Box 493, Emigsville, PA 17318.

Guest for the evening and keynote speaker is Astronaut Captain Mark Kelly, retired NASA mission commander of Endeavour and Discovery and veteran of four space flight missions – who will discuss how focus, dedication, persistence and determination can help anyone tap into their potential for success in any competitive environment. His keynote address will be followed by a book-signing.

The event will include business networking and great cuisine earlier in the evening. Single tickets for the 2018 Annual Event are $85 per person, with student tickets $40 (with a valid school ID). Tickets can be ordered at the Association’s website at www.mascpa.org/2018AnnualEvent. Event sponsorships are available for area businesses, in conjunction with Mark Kelly’s appearance.
