WGAL News 8 Sports Director Pat Principe to Emcee & Kick-off Manufacturers’ Association’s 116th Annual Event with The Wild Hymns
Captain Richard Phillips to Keynote this event on June 14th!
The Manufacturers Association is announcing that Pat Principe, WGAL News 8 Sports Director, will Emcee and host the Association’s upcoming 116th Annual Event on June 14th at PeoplesBank Park. The Wild Hymns, original singers/songwriters Megan Woodland Hewitt (née Donley) and her band with her husband, guitarist Jeff Hewitt, will be the entertainment and national anthem singers at this event. Presenting the guardian of colors, is the local Marine Corp. Honor Guard: George Ball, Carol McIntosh, John McQuain, Dean Van Zanardi and Stu Langley. The Association, founded in 1906, is the voice of manufacturing for hundreds of member & non-member organizations in southcentral PA & northern MD. The Association supports manufacturers with the knowledge they need to operate, hire & train smarter.
Pat Principe graduated, cum laude, from Ithaca College, attaining a degree from the School of Communications in 1976. Pat first took up broadcasting during his junior year of college, when he became sports director for the college radio station. As a senior, he was named Sportscaster of the Year. After college, Pat worked as a sportscaster and producer for WOWK-TV in Huntington, W.Va. In 1982, he moved to WLYH-TV in the Lancaster/Lebanon area of Pennsylvania. In his career with WGAL, Pat has been nominated eight times for Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Awards.
The Wild Hymns have written and recorded over 50 original songs since 2014. Their music has been played on various radio stations around the east coast. They have toured nationally and released 2 albums in 2016 & 2018. Ever-evolving in sound and style and preparing to release their newest and boldest collection of dreamy folk-pop tunes in 2022, followed by national and international touring.
The Manufacturers’ Association’s annual event, hosted this year at PeoplesBank Park on June 14th, brings together 700+ business and community leaders for an evening of business networking and inspiration!
This year, Captain Richard Phillips, former captain of the MV Maersk Alabama, and New York Times best-selling author will be the 2022 Annual Event’s guest and keynote speaker. Captain Phillips is the author of A Captain’s Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days at Sea, about his experience and his remarkable rescue.
