On Sept 21, 2023, the First ever Advanced Manufacturing Club in Pennsylvania held their first official Kick off meeting.
The Advanced Manufacturing club started in Precision Machining with one student wanting a club for his shop. Then the Machining club was started in January 2023. The Machining club was a big success with community projects and extra fun machining projects after school.
This year the Machining Club turned into the Advanced Manufacturing Club, adding students from Welding and Mechatronics. The Club is now partnered with The Manufacturing Association in York, Pennsylvania. With this new partnership, students in this rural community will have access to more than 100 Pennsylvania businesses and industries. If students choose, they may enroll in an industry recognized pre-apprenticeship program.
With the addition of the two new programs, the club held their first official meeting to discuss new project opportunities, fundraisers, and activities. The students were able to work alongside Mrs. Becky Becker from the Manufacturing Association and discuss the need for workers in the manufacturing industry. We are very excited to see what opportunities are instore for this new student led Advanced Manufacturing Club.
