Welcome Sheldon Rodgers, Our New Pre-Apprenticeship Coordinator!
We are excited to announce that Sheldon Rodgers has joined the Manufacturers Association as our new Pre-Apprenticeship Coordinator!
Sheldon brings extensive experience in hands-on workforce training, mentoring emerging talent, and building strong relationships with educators, industry partners, and students. With a proven background in apprenticeship coordination, curriculum development, and technical instruction, he will play a key role in strengthening our youth talent pipeline and preparing the next generation for high-demand manufacturing careers.
Prior to joining the Association, Sheldon served in multiple leadership and training roles at JST Corporation in Harrisburg, where he mentored apprentices, developed learning pathways, and coordinated on the job training experiences. He has strong experience guiding students through technical skill development, supporting their success, and collaborating with schools and community partners to ensure programs meet real industry needs. His background includes years of hands-on work as a toolmaker, machine builder, and technical trainer, which gives him a unique ability to connect classroom learning with real-world application.
In his new role, Sheldon will:
- Lead pre-apprenticeship activities and work directly with students to build foundational technical and workplace skills.
- Collaborate with schools, teachers, and career coordinators to deliver engaging manufacturing based learning experiences.
- Strengthen partnerships with manufacturers to ensure youth training aligns with current workforce needs.
- Develop and enhance curriculum, hands-on projects, and training materials that help students build confidence and career readiness.
