This course is designed to instruct students on proper removal and installation of bearings, pulleys, chains,
sprockets, gears and couplings. Also covered are lubricating and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
The student will learn proper alignment procedures and will perform alignment on chain drives and belt drives. The student will also learn the four-step coupling alignment and will perform it on shafts and couplings using a dial indicator. Also covered are motor and pump alignment and determining the cause of overloading
COURSE OUTLINE:
- Identify and select the proper replacement, removal, and install bearings
- Select and replace belts, pulleys, chains, sprockets, and gears
- Install and align drive couplings
- Identify and select the proper lubricant for machine applications
- Perform parallel and series shaft alignment
- Check the loading on a machine and determine the root cause for overloading
39 hours. This class can also be held as a private course at your location. (previously named Machine Maintenance)
Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be received at least 10 business working days prior to class start date. Substitutions will be accepted at any time. No shows and cancellations less than 10 business days prior to class start will be charged the advertised price for the class.
