Shop Math 3 (3/16 -5/13/26)

This course offers the study of Oblique Triangles using Law of Sines/Cosines, Areas/Volumes/Weights of Geometric shapes, and Cartesian/Polar Coordinates. Also included is the application of Basic Machine Shop formulas found in the Machinery’s Handbook, Measurement labs including: Precision Gage Blocks, Thread Measurement over Wires, etc., and working with Compound Angles.
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the student will have gained an understanding of how to: apply basic machine shop formulas to practical applications, establish Cartesian and Polar coordinates, work with Tolerancing and clearance/interference fits, calculate basic Compound angles.

Prerequisite: It is recommended to take Shop Math I & Shop Math II.
