Problem Solve Your Way Out of a Crisis – Understanding the Lean Six Sigma DMAIC Cycle

This wake-up will provide a high level “Intro to DMAIC Problem Solving” unpacking the DMAIC Phase Gates. We will walk through each DMAIC Problem-Solving step sharing real-life examples and discussing the concepts with you.

DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) refers to a data-driven improvement cycle used for improving, optimizing and stabilizing business processes and designs. The DMAIC improvement cycle is the core tool used to drive Six Sigma projects. DMAIC is not exclusive to Six Sigma and can be used as the framework for other improvement applications.

Mike is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with a Lean Manufacturing Certification from the University of Michigan. As Operational Excellence Director, Mike provides strategic leadership and “on site” mentoring for the Go-Lean-Six deployment team. Mike is a motivated results-driven leader who has trained and mentored many teams who continuously improved customer satisfaction by reducing the cost and time to safely produce high quality products and services. Mike is effective in partnering with management to solve complex business problems and influencing employees towards achievement of organizational goals. Mike has over twenty years of experience in the process improvement field with organizations such as Harley-Davidson, Johnson Controls, Mack Trucks, BAE Systems and Volvo.
