The Talent & Innovation Defense Ecosystem (TIDE) Project is a strategic initiative designed to strengthen defense manufacturing in Central PA. Through targeted training and engagement with employers to increase automation awareness and capabilities, the Project will seek to remove barriers to automation and plant floor technologies for small and medium defense manufacturers who support the U.S. Maritime and Defense Industrial Bases.
In partnership with the Advanced Manufacturing for Robotics (ARM) Innovation Institute and 2 federal NIST-MEP Centers (MANTEC and Innovative Manufacturers’ Center) covering Central Pennsylvania, The Manufacturers’ Association has developed a NO COST Automation Readiness Assessment designed to:
- Analyze project-based activities and identify potential obstacles to adopting or improving automation technology and innovation on the plant floor
- Outline potential opportunities, solutions, and benefits to adoption and implementation of qualified automation projects
- Qualify eligible defense manufacturers for access to technology deployment project support
