This training session will last for approximately one hour and will be divided into two parts:

  • Part I: How to Apply for WEDnetPA Funds – Presented by Angelic Hardy, Director of Workforce Development and WEDnetPA Partner.
    • Learn about the Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA), a program that provides training funds to qualified employers for both new and existing employees. 
    • WEDnetPA is a collaborative partnership among community colleges, state system universities, and other educational institutions, aimed at meeting the needs of Pennsylvania’s business community.

  • Part II: How to Develop  a Training Plan Presented by MA Staff
    • Developing a training plan that includes identifying training providers and estimating training costs is crucial for your success in receiving WEDnet funding.
    • Discover key statistics: on the importance of training employees and supervisors.
    • Approximately 59% of employees claim to have had no workplace training, relying mostly on self-taught skills.
    • About 74% of workers are willing to learn new skills or undergo retraining to remain employable.
    • 87% of millennials consider learning and development in the workplace to be important.
    • Development opportunities are deemed extremely important by 59% of millennials when deciding whether to apply for a position.
    • Around 59% of managers overseeing one to two employees receive no training at all, and the same applies to 41% of managers overseeing three to five employees.
