COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course covers in detail the operation and understanding of analog and digital drives. The student will be introduced to Drive Fundamentals and will apply a DC Drive to an application.
COURSE OUTLINE
- Draw Block Diagrams of Analog and Digital drives.
- Draw a diagram showing the operation of a DC Drive working in all 4 quadrants.
- Drawing block diagrams for voltage, speed, current, and torque regulators.
- Design block diagrams of a DC drive system employing an inter current loop and an outer position loop.
- Selecting the proper stopping method for a DC drive application.
- Distinguishing the differences between proportional control, integral control, and derivative control in a drive regulator.
- The student will apply a DC drive to an application, adjust and tune it for proper operation.
